You know the computer is useful machine.It is fast and accurate.It automatically does the jobs assigned to it. It has many characteristics are superior to humans.
The main characteristics of a computer are:
1. SPEED(fast)
A computer is a fast machine. In a few seconds, it can do huge calculations. It can solve a sum in fraction of a second. It can process million instructions per seconds. Simple numerical operations as addition and subtraction can be performed in nanosecond (billionth part of a second).
2.ACCURACY(correct)
A computer is a accurate machine. It never commits a mistake
while doing calculations. The result generated by a computer may be accurate up to any level, whichever required. It can calculate upto a micron, or a picosecond. If the input data and th set of instructions and correct, the result produced will be accurate.
3.HIGH MEMORY(large memory)
A computer has a large memory. It can store a large amount of
data in its memory and can retrieve whenever required.
A computer can store more than 250 GB of data in its hard disk.
4.DILIGENCE(tirelessly)
A computer can work tirelessly for along time.Unlike human
beings, it never feels bored. If ten million calculations are to
be performed, a computer will perform the ten millionth calculation with the same accuracy and speed as it performed
first one.
5.VERSATILITY(different works)
A computer can do a lot of different works. One moment it is preparing the results of a particular eximination, the next momentit is busy in solving sums, and in between it may be used for listening to songs. A computer is a capable of performing any task provided that the task can be reduced to a set of instructions.
6.NO INTELLIGENCE
Computer is a machine. It posses no intelligence of its own. It is fully dependent on the user for doing a task. It cannot take its own decisions. Everything must be instructed to it in advance. It does only what is told to do.
7.NO FEELINGS
Computer does not have feelings. It is a machine. Based on our feelings, taste, knowledge and experience, we make certain decisions in our day to day life. But a computer cannot make such judgements.
